That is the question that started John Moore off on his career as a Long Range Weather Forecaster. John grew up on a farm at Springhurst (near Wangaratta Victoria) and managed the farm for 35 years. The weather being so important in farming and John having an enquiring mind he took a keen interest in the weather. Being a Christian he believed that the World was created (with complex systems and patterns) and was not a series of unrelated accidents. In 1978 he began studying weather conditions and researched rainfall records from over 100 years looking for comparisons and patterns. Eventually bringing together the influence of the Solar System, El Nino, La Nina and other ocean currents, he has produced a plan which forecasts future weather conditions with above average accuracy.
John Moore started sharing his predictions with friends and neighbours and soon developed a local following. In February 1998 John considered that there was a niche in the market of Long Range Weather Forecasting for the Winter Rainfall areas of South Eastern Australia, (namely South Australia, Southern New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. The result was the formation of Moore's Long Range Weather Forecasting P/L. In 2000 John became aware of a need for Snowfall Forecasting for the New South Wales and Victorian Snowfields. John studied past snowfall records and has issued snowfall forecasts very successfully since then. In 2000 with his family having other interests, John left farming to provide more time for weather forecasting. |
